Debra’s heart Skipped a beat As she cupped her hands Over Nanna’s eyes And Whispered, “Surprise!”

Feeling For the first time In two years

The Pandemic had Finally Loosened its grip On their lives

Thoroughly soaked But ecstatic To finally capture The quintessential Splash image

I get by With A little help From My friends

You want me To Do what?

Stand up here on stage In front of All these people

And Recite poetry….

But I haven’t even learned how To read yet!

Upon the threshold Tears Wept

As Long ago promise Finally kept
