Memorial Day – 2018
Each of them
Famous
In their
Way
True to
The purpose
They did
Stay
Unwavering
Courage
To be
Laid
On war’s
Battlefields
Day after
Day
A debt of
Gratitude
Still to
Pay
For hard won
Freedom
Enjoyed

Tree Plea
Decades of stars and sun I’ve seen
This is where I’ve always been
Battling wind and snow and ice
Time and again I’ve paid the price
My roots have firmly taken hold
I wish to stay here and grow old
Don’t make me go I love it here
To all of us this place is dear
So many of my friends have fallen
The Grim Reaper for me comes calling
Let me add another ring
Save me from the chain saw’s sting
If I could speak I’d be so bold
Proclaim my worth in ounces gold
Progress must happen I am told
Soon I’ll be felled for a new road
My fate is sealed that much is clear
Until that day I live in fear
I am a stately, regal tree
Don’t cut me down, just let me be
Earth Day – 2018
Heartfelt
Conjure
Up
Memories
Bright
Of
Images past
Ere they
Take
Flight
In your
Heart
Hold them
So
Tight
Even though
Vanished
From
Sight
Evermore
They
Still
Delight

And A Happy Valentine’s Day To All!
Enjoy Your Gift
Life
Should be like
Opening a
Gift
Done slowly
And
Methodically
With great
Anticipation
Untying the bow
And
Setting it aside
For
Future use
Sliding your fingers
Under the tape
To carefully loosen it
Without
Tearing the paper
Taking
A quick peek
To see if you can tell yet
What’s inside
Slipping off the wrappings
And being
Delighted
With what you find
Done properly
It takes
Decades
It’s The Season
A
Jolly
Time of
Year
As the
Holidays
Draw
Near
Everywhere
In
Sight
All
Glittery
And
Bright
