Perhaps birthday celebrations
Should be reserved
For children and seniors. The former can’t wait
To get older,
While the latter
Are genuinely grateful
To still be around.Everyone in-between
Simply
Mourns the passing
Of another year
Of their youth.Lens-Artists: Celebrating

Not all mourn the day… since I was given the cancer diagnosis 18 years ago I am grateful for ever year past the diagnosis day. … besides just give me a cake and see if I don’t tear into it with the same zest and hunger of a kid. LOL!

We could all follow your example of being grateful for each year!

You could be right, Sandy, but I’ve always loved my birthday and could celebrate it the whole month and often have. 🙂 That was when everything tiny I put into my mouth didn’t add a pound when I stepped on the scales. 🙂

Hmmm….have never really thought about it that way Sandy but I think you’re onto something! I guess that means I haven’t QUITE reached “senior” status yet – although my drive’s’ license says differently LOL.
