One Word Sunday
The Smallest Of Birds
Luminescent red and green
Shimmers in a low lit beam
Hummingbirds to flight are called
Before the veil of twilight falls
Frontward, backward…high and low
Darting quickly to and fro
Drumming wings all in a flurry
On a mission…got to hurry
Nectar yet waits to be gleaned
By the smallest bird ever seen
Having taken daily nourishment
Their energy is fully spent
Time now for a well-earned rest
Before once more put to the test
Weighing about the same as a nickel, hummingbirds are the smallest birds in the world.
One Word Sunday: Small, Smaller or Smallest
It’s A Conundrum
Stop and
Ponder
Which way to
Go
Or
Roll the dice
Give fate
Control
