Day begins
Sun
Comes
Up
Silence
Deafening
So
Abrupt
From tree
And meadow
No sound
Erupts
Birds
Vanish
Too few cared
Enough
*A recent comprehensive study estimates
there are 3 billion fewer wild birds soaring
the skies over North America today than
in 1970. This is a decrease of 29 percent.

Heartbreaking… Rachel Carson tried to warn us.

It’s heartbreaking, isn’t it? I feel sick inside every time I think of what we’ve done and continue to do. Thank you for this beautiful image and powerful words, Sandy.

I had heard of this decrease in numbers. The canaries in the coal mines…….. will we perish next? I hope we can act to avert that disaster.

Yes, one wonders if we will ever see the writing on the wall.

So sad…I wonder when World leaders are going to wake up to the crisis!

Maybe when it begins to affect them personally, which will be too late.

We are doing our part in feeding the birds… if only everyone would wake up and know this is a much bigger problem. Great post!

Your guess is as good as mine?
(These days I don’t believe all the comprehensive studies… just think, there are still people out there saying CO2 is toxic… and bad for the environment!) 🤔😕😵
