A great variety Sandy. The first chair is one that was used with spinning wheels as far as I know so the setting was a mash-up.

My sister used that chair when she played the piano. It always looked very uncomfortable to me. I have an antique oak office chair that goes with the desk, but it takes too much room in the house. The desk is sizable, also, but I couldn’t part with it when I retired.
The back rest in the first is definitely not comfortable

Oh no that desk is so special. That is a sit up straight and play piano but yes uncomfortable for sure. We always have padded piano stools

That first one it strange, it doesn’t look comfortable, I read your explanation, and yeah strange, but I agree the desk is gorgeous.
