My husband is a fly-fisherman Sandy and your post really made me smile. I’ve joined him on a few outings and actually caught salmon fly-fishing in Alaska after our guide gave me a quick lesson. That is not to be compared to the time in Colorado when we fly-fished with a local guide. That time I slipped on a wet rock in pretty fast-moving water and spent the day totally soaked through from the water rushing INTO my soaking wet waders. Let’s just say that was my LAST outing LOL! Now I just go with him and find photography opportunities while he fishes 😊 Thanks for the fond memory.
Oops! I just watch my husband fish. Those rocks are really slick and it’s hard to handle the fast moving water. And it takes forever to get suited up (lol!).
ah. yes. A nice story, clearly reflection of your husbands down time. As Siobhan says, it is indeed and art and a science, bu tit is also a test of patience…in my opinion. But oh do I love to catch them with my lens. In Yellowstone, I used to just sit on the Madison River and watch.
Finding his bliss! 🙂
