I loathe these beetles. They have decimated my Linden tree and also my Mountain ash. I have two beetle traps and get a lot of beetles in them, but still they are eating the trees. I have heard that the traps are not a good idea as the lure attracts beetles from far and near. Next year I will try not traps and see if it is better.

Yes, it’s true that the traps actually make the situation worse. They are very prolific and destructive pests.
