When looking at a water lily the leaves are as much a part of its beauty as the petals. That probably is true of all flowers but I never thought of it until I saw these beautiful lilies. The leaves seem so protect of the flower.

Yes, the pads are quite interesting, too. I love shooting water lilies at the local public garden. I look forward to their return this summer.
