I love the first page of a new journal. There seems to be a fight between the joy of starting something new, against the reluctance to spoil a pristine page with ink. I always feel that I want to put something special on the first and last pages. I don’t think I’ve ever managed it, though! ✍
Yes, I know what you mean. There is a desire to do the journal justice with your words. I buy plain Moleskine journals and embellish the covers myself. I like to give them as gifts to other writers.
