Two years ago, hubs and I made our way up from the Longs Peak trailhead. We wanted to follow the path taken by those hearty and brave (and sometimes foolish!) souls who’ve made the trek to the top of Longs Peak. It was a beautiful, late day hike and our goal was to make it to the tree line before we had to head back down. To break through to the tree line was thrilling, our largest ascent to date. We’re planning a trip to Estes Park again in SEP. Our goal this time is Chasm Lake and, fingers crossed, Quandary – our first 14er. Love Colorado! Unfortunately, I fell and broke my hip a week and a half ago. I’m told recovery should be complete in time for us to pursue this next Rocky Mountain adventure. LOL – I hope so as I ain’t gettin’ any younger. Ha! Wish me luck. 🙂
Yes, clouds have a way of swirling around mountaintops in beautiful ways. I’m no meteorologist, but I suppose it has to do with the elevation, wind, etc.
Perfect poem

In that moment, mesmerised, I would want to lie on the ground and just look at those clouds, as much as take the hiking challenge.
