  1. When I was in high school, a ‘funky’ new record store opened up in an side-street basement just off Main in our small north central Iowa community. It was there that I paid a whopping $11.98 for Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. A monumental waste of money according to my mother.

The place had a hippie feel to it with posters on the walls and incense burning at the checkout counter. Record bins, much like your photo, took up much of the space in the center. I thought it was just an awesome place! So I was thrilled when the memory of it popped into my head just last week. I’d totally forgotten about it.

And, now, this photo of yours…

Yes. I’m smiling right now. 🙂

    • This photo likewise reminded me of a store here in NE back in the 1970’s. I can’t claim the image. It’s part of Sonya’s weekly 3 line tales prompt. Only the words are mine. But so glad you enjoyed it!
