especially as it’s usually family or friends that abuse them! They should be taught to say NO

Yes! There are a lot of miseducated, sick people out there, unfortunately.

I agree. Children are still taught that they have to listen. They should instead be taught there are times when NO is appropriate and essential! and the difference between the two options.

I try so hard to teach balance in this area. Precaution & gut instincts come in handy but understanding when kindness should be welcomed is so important too! All or nothing is NEVER good. I agree with this & hope it can change because we need communities again where people care & watch out for one another, so our children can learn trust and how to have non-defensive/non-passive interactions with their fellow neighbors!💕🌻☯️✌️~Anne

It is very hard in today’s world to balance things out. I feel lucky to have grown up in the 1950’s when trusting people was pretty much a ‘given’, of course tempered with some degree of caution. Building trust is difficult in a culture of prevailing paranoia.

Definitely! Thanks Sandy!! The 80s weren’t even close to this bad. It’s changed quickly 😟.

But I worry also when it is the ‘friend’ online that is trusted. You know?
